accepts
表示爲(wèi)大學(xué)或俱樂(lè)部所接受時(shí),後麪所跟的介詞是 by 而不是 to; 表示“聘用”時(shí),後麪接介詞 for。
- 同receive不同,accept是“接受”,而receive是“收到”。accept a present是“接受一個(gè)禮物”,不會(huì)退還,而receive a present是“收到一個(gè)禮物”,有可能會(huì)退還;
- accept和accept of以前可以替換使用,現(xiàn)accept of用的比較少,往往帶有“正式”或“垂恩”之意。衹適用於說(shuō)接受present,favour,love,hospitality等,不適於接受theory,advice,apology,challenge,offer,invitation,ruling等;
If you accept, please let me know immediately.
I am pleased to accept your invitation. 不用I shall be pleased to accept your invitation.
v. (動(dòng)詞)
