- too也可作“太”“過(guò)于”“過(guò)分”解,修飾形容詞或副詞,與動(dòng)詞不定式連用時(shí)構(gòu)成too...to結(jié)構(gòu),以肯定形式表示否定意義,譯作“太… 但在下面的情況中too...to結(jié)構(gòu)不表示否定意義:①如果too后的形容詞是anxious,apt,easy,eager,kind,glad,ready,willing,delighted等, too相當(dāng)于very, extremely, particularly(很,大,非常),動(dòng)詞不定式不與too呼應(yīng)而是修飾形容詞,因而表示肯定意義; ②too前有only,but,all等詞時(shí),便沒(méi)有否定的意思; ③too前如有not, never的too...to結(jié)構(gòu)不表示否定意義, not, never否定謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞,構(gòu)成雙重否定,因而表示肯定意義,作“并不(太)…
- too作“非常,很”解時(shí),常用于口語(yǔ)中,相當(dāng)于very。
- too不能用very修飾,但可以用a little, a bit, rather, a lot, much 或 far 等來(lái)修飾。
- too可用于“too+ adj. +a/an+ n ”句型中。
