基本解釋

stoop的基本意思是“彎腰,俯首”,有時指彎曲膝蓋來降低身體的高度,而頭部和軀干仍舊是挺直的。引申可作“屈尊,降格,墮落”解。還可指從較高的道德水平降到較低的道德水平或行為標準而作出不光彩的舉動。
stoop可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時接名詞或代詞作賓語。
stoop用作不及物動詞時常接動詞不定式作目的狀語,可直譯為“彎腰做…”,還可引申譯為“屈尊去做…”。
stoop后可接“to+sth/ v -ing”結構,意思是“降低身份作出…”“墮落到…程度”。
