- law的基本意思是“法”,指由至高無(wú)上的權(quán)威機(jī)構(gòu)〔部門(mén)〕頒布并強(qiáng)制推行的,對(duì)被統(tǒng)治者具有約束力和義務(wù)性的原則,從狹義上說(shuō)可指地方至國(guó)家立法機(jī)關(guān)所頒布的法令法規(guī),也可指約定俗成的行為規(guī)范,指具體的某項(xiàng)法律時(shí)是可數(shù)名詞。表示法律整體時(shí),是不可數(shù)名詞,有無(wú)定冠詞the都可以。當(dāng)law表示某一類(lèi)法律時(shí),不加定冠詞the,而當(dāng)確切地表示某國(guó)或某時(shí)的法律時(shí),前面要加定冠詞。law引申還可表示“規(guī)則”“條例”。
