- 直接源自古英語的bedd，意為床，沙發(fā)，休憩之所；最初源自古日耳曼語的badjam，意為地上挖出坑用于睡覺之處。

- bed的基本意思是“床,床鋪”,包括床架、床墊、毯子、床單、枕頭等。也可指某種東西的“底盤”“底座”等,還可指房屋的“地基”?？梢曛浮胺渴隆?在日常口語或在公開場(chǎng)合可作委婉語使用。
- bed可用于表示抽象概念,這時(shí)是不可數(shù)名詞,無單復(fù)數(shù)之分,也不與不定冠詞連用。
- bed與介詞in, into, out of等連用時(shí)通常不用冠詞或其他限定詞；與介詞on連用時(shí)通常要有冠詞。
