用法辨析
- 在指“不久就要……”時(shí),后通常接不定式,如about to start。也有接動(dòng)名詞,如about starting。但是不可再加表示時(shí)間的詞,如不可說(shuō)about starting at once;
- 指“大約”的意思時(shí),表達(dá)方式有about ten,about half等。注意ten和half都是明確的數(shù)量,about不該用在“多少不定”的詞前,如about more than ten,about less than half;
- 與at搭配使用時(shí),about是副詞,沒(méi)有at時(shí),about 是介詞。句中可有at,也可沒(méi)有,意思相同。I went (at) about five (o'clock).
